Nola May Jarvis

September 5, 1925 - August 18, 2019

Nola May Jarvis, 93, of Fairmont, passed away on Sunday August 18, 2019, at Fairmont Regional Medical Center. She was born in Fairmont on September 5, 1925, the last surviving child born to the late Fred Sanders and Jessie (Nuzum) Sanders. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Howard “Pete” E. Jarvis in May of 2002. Nola was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She graduated of East Fairmont High School and had worked at Owens-Illinois Glass Plant for twenty-five years. She attended Mt. Sharon Church and was active with the VFW Post 7048, Fairmont. She is survived by her son, Donald Jarvis and her daughter, Pamela Michael, both of Fairmont; her very special Granddaughter, Monica Lynn Michael, of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Anna “Marie” Satterfield and Virginia Boyce and her brother, Charles Sanders. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to VFW Post # 7048, 1310 Morgantown Ave., Fairmont, WV 26554 or the DAV 3725 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, KY 41076. Family and friends will be received at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home on Monday from 1pm to 8pm and on Tuesday from 10am to 11am. The funeral service will be at 11am on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at the funeral home with Pastor Rex Musgrove officiating. Interment will follow at the Nuzum Cemetery.
