Marion Lou Burdette Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Marion Lou Burdette, 91, of Fairmont, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2020, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was born on May 19, 1929, in Dunbar, a daughter of the late Reuben Stone and Gwendolyn (Smith) Stone. After graduating high school and West Virginia State, Marion worked as a schoolteacher in Texas City, Texas, and in Puerto Rico. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of the Methodist Church of West Columbia, Texas, for several years. She will be missed by many. She is survived by sons, Bob Burdette and Richard Burdette and wife Mary, all of Texas; daughter, Lynn Taylor and husband Doug, of Fairmont; grandchildren: Sam Burdette, Grey Burdette, Ben Burdette, Ann Presnall, all of Texas, Erin Taylor, Jennifer Taylor-Evans, both of Fairmont, Kinsey Burdette, of Texas, Kacy Burdette, of Arkansas, and Natasha Burdette, of Texas; and great-grandchildren: Piper Burdette, Camden Evans, Brayden Evans, Brea Evans, and Harper Gallardo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph R. Burdette. She was also preceded in death by son, David Burdette, and brother, Robert Stone. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to WVU Medicine Hospice, 327 Medical Park Dr., Bridgeport, WV 26330 in memory of Marion (Stone) Burdette. Family and friends are welcome to attend a service on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Grandview Memorial Gardens with Bishop Clifton Dedrickson offficiating. Entombment will follow after the service.
