John Guy Heldreth

John Guy Heldreth, 78, of Inwood, WV passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at the Madison Center in Morgantown. He was born May 8, 1942, in Shinnston; a son of the late William “Bill” and Nadine (Ashcraft) Heldreth. John graduated from Mannington High School and was a veteran in the U.S. Army. John worked for Owens-Illinois and Dominion Hope Gas. He was Methodist by faith and attended Hoult United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. John is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Rita (O’Dell) Heldreth of Inwood; his daughters, Stacey Clayton of Charles Town and Kelly Wolf and her husband, Kerry of Inwood; his grandchildren, Mason and Jordan Clayton; his brother, David Heldreth and his wife, Karen of Fairmont; his sisters, Carrie Morgan of Mississippi, Avis Wallace of Florida and Shirley Reese of Ohio; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, William “Billy” Heldreth, and his sister Cathern Kerns. Family and friends are welcome to call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont, on Sunday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. and on Monday, January 18, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home, with Pastor Randy Vincent, officiating. A flag folding service will be conducted following the service at the funeral home by Marion County Veterans Council Military Honor Guard. Interment will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Wyatt.
