Jeness Tucker Jeness Manoka Tucker, 92, of Fairmont, Catawba Community, passed away at her home. She was born in Webster Springs on May 14, 1926 a daughter of the late Parker and Pearl Elizabeth (Cool) Brady. She is survived by her husband, Samuel Tucker. The couple celebrated 65 years of marriage on July 26. Mrs. Tucker graduated from East Fairmont High School in 1946. Following her graduation, she began working at the Westinghouse Lamp Plant and retired from North American Philips. She was a Charter member of Victory Baptist Church and Fellowship Baptist Church. She and her sisters formed the singing group “The Brady Sisters”, a popular gospel group in the Fairmont area. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, David Tucker and his wife Robin of Fairmont; her daughter, Karen Fay Perkins and her husband Mark of Wheeling; four grandsons, Curt and his wife Terresa, Justin Tucker, Samuel Tyler Tucker and Tanner Glenn Tucker and four great grandchildren, Keyshawn, Kayden, Kohen and Colton. Also surviving are two sisters, Carol Martin and Violet Toothman and several nieces and nephews. A special thanks Amedysis Hospice and caregivers, Connie Rutherford and Theresa Bruno. Friends and family will be received at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont on Friday from 11am to 4pm. The funeral service will be at 4pm on Friday, September 7, 2018 with Pastor Nathan Barker, Pastor Pat Tanner and Pastor David Meyer.
