November 21, 1932 - May 30, 2021
Helen Louise Linn, 88, beloved mother, Granny, and GiGi, passed on from this life at 5:22 pm on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at her home in Pleasant Valley, surrounded by her loving family. Helen was born in Brownsville, PA on November 21, 1932, daughter of the late Lois Eastwood and Earl Evans. At the age of 15, she met the love of her life, and they were soon married on August 26, 1948 in Oakland, MD. After having two daughters of their own, they also raised her younger sister Shirley after her mother’s sudden passing. They opened their home to many family members at one time or another, and never hesitated to help anyone in need. Helen was a homemaker who babysat many children over the years that held a special place in her heart. She was a kid at heart who loved to laugh and joke, and she never met a stranger. Over the years, she and her husband enjoyed traveling, going to the Sagebrush Roundup and auctions, and attending their grandchildren and great grandchildren’s events. She was an avid quilter, having made many beautiful quilts over the years for her family. Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Edward “Bob” Linn, who passed away on April 2, 2021; her mother and father, her brother Billy Evans, her sister and brother-in-law Shirley and Bill Hobbs, and a special brother in law Pat Heston. She is survived by her daughters and their husbands Brenda and Larry Layman, Bobbie and Rick Vincent; three grandchildren and their spouses, Brian and Missy Vincent, Kelsie and Ryan Dudas, and Michelle and Erik Wilson; as well as great grandchildren Mason Watton, Kambreigha, Nevaeh, Denver, and Deacon Dudas, and Mackenzie and Bellamy Wilson. She is also survived by nieces Rebecca Dale and Vickie Hobbs and their children. We welcome visitors to celebrate Helen’s life at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont, WV 26554 where a viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 2 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursday, June 3 from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Jim Zinn presiding. Interment will take place at a later date, when the cremains of both Helen and Bob will be buried together along with military rights to honor Bob’s service to his country in the United States Navy. The family offers their deepest gratitude to Amedysis Hospice, especially Corinna, Courtnie, Annie, Angie, and Brenda, as well as the rest of the staff for their compassionate care and dedication.
