Harold Delbert Fetty Sr.

Harold Delbert Fetty Sr., of Mannington, passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Fairmont Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 95. He was born in Fairmont on May 24, 1923 a son of the late Gilbert Clay and Lillian (Butcher) Fetty. Harold attended East Fairmont High School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WW II, with service aboard a submarine, the SS-242 Bluegill. He worked for Consolidation Coal Company at Williams Mine and Blacksville for 35 years as a foreman. His interests included being a member of the Salvation Army Band in Fairmont, golf, and bowling. Harold is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Patricia Harvey Neely-Fetty; one son, Harold D. Fetty, Jr. and his wife, Jane, of Texas; a step son, Bradford Neely, of Mannington; two daughters: Dorothy Robison and her husband, Gene, of Ohio and Wanda L. Sailor and husband, Roy, of Worthington; eight grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and 18 great - great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his first wife, Eleanor Fetty, in 2002 and two brothers: Wayne Fetty and Gilbert Lee Fetty. Family and friends will be received at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont on Monday, December 03, 2018 from 5pm to 8pm and Tuesday, December 4th from 9am to 10am. The funeral service will be on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Harry Holbert officiating. Interment will follow at the Grandview Memorial Gardens with Full Military Honors provided by the Marion County Veterans Council Honor Guard.
