Glenoka Lee Bland

September 22, 1938 - August 28, 2018

Glenoka Lee Bland, 79, of Fairmont, passed away at Fairmont Regional Medical Center on August 28, 2018. She was born on September 22, 1938 in Fairmont, the daughter of the late William Henry Rager and Edith Opal (Hawkins) Rager. Glenoka will be remembered for her love of WVU sports, country music (especially Gaither Gospel), reading, puzzle books, but most importantly, of spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Donald I. Rager, and a sister, Leota Imogene Rager. Glenoka is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Fred Bland. She is survived by son, Michael Bland and wife Kelly, of Fairmont; daughters, Kimberly Ice, of Monongah, and Deborah A. Dowling and husband Andrew Joseph, of Maryland. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Ethin Bland, of Fairmont; A.J. Dowling, of Maryland; and Amber Beaudin and husband Jeff, of Maryland. Family and friends are welcome to call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont, on Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday, August 31 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with services taking place on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor John Knoll officiating. Interment with follow at Ross Cemetery.
