Gary Alan Sanders Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Gary Alan Sanders, 47, of Shinnston, passed away on Friday, October 12, 2018, at United Hospital Center. He was born in Fairmont on May 12, 1971, a son of Florence Carpenter Sanders, of Shinnston, and the late John Aaron Sanders. Gary was currently employed as a meat cutter at Shop and Save/ Price Cutter store in West Fairmont. He was a graduate of Bridgeport High School. His favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing, and spending time with his dogs, Hunter and Jake. In addition to his mother, Gary is survived by his brother, Jeff Sanders, of Shinnston; his niece Cheyenne Sanders; and a sister-in-law Jennifer Ozzbourne, of Rivesville. Also surviving are his aunts and uncles: Rebecca Ellen Chelli and her husband Jim, of Shinnston; Cindy Lou Layman and her husband Luke, of Tennessee; Sylvia VanGilder and her husband Clyde; Rose Heston and her husband Mike; Gladys Stanley and her husband John; Vernon Carpenter and his wife Belinda; Gary Carpenter and his wife Janice; Joe Carpenter and his wife Jean; Charlie Carpenter and his wife Freda; and Walter Carpenter and his wife Linda; a great aunt Billie Mae Sanders, and several cousins, all of the Fairmont area. Family and friends will be received at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont, on Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 1pm to 8pm and on Friday, October 19th, from 11am to 1pm. The funeral service will be at 1 pm on Friday, October 19th at the funeral home with Pastor Cam Pyle officiating. Interment will follow at Mt Zion Cemetery.
