Cecil Dolan Bucklew

August 5, 1934 - June 10, 2020

Cecil Dolan Bucklew, 85, of Fairmont, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, June 10, 2020. He was born on August 05, 1934, in Fairmont, a son of the late Cam Denzil Bucklew Sr. and Juanita R. (Haught) Bucklew. After graduating East Fairmont High School, Cecil went on to give over 40 years of service to Westinghouse/North American Philips. He was a member of the West Virginia Sportsman and Firearms Association, and enjoyed shooting, hunting, fishing, playing music (especially harmonica), telling stories, and writing and reciting poems. In addition to his parents, he was preceded to his loving wife of 64 years, Bertha Gay (Satterfield) Bucklew, who passed away on January 14, 2018. He was also preceded in death by brother, Denzil D. Bucklew; sister, Christine E. Bucklew McRobie; and sisters-in-law, Dora Bucklew and Margaret Bucklew. Cecil is survived by son, Thomas A. Bucklew, of Fairmont; grandson, Jacob T. Bucklew, of Fairmont; great-grandchildren, Dominick D. M. and Mia J. B. Bucklew; brothers, Robert O. Bucklew, of Ohio, and Cam J. Bucklew Jr. and wife Ruth, of Grafton; brother-in-law, Dave McRobie, of Fairmont; as well as several loving nieces and nephews. Friends and family are welcome to call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont, on Friday from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m., and on Saturday, June 13, 2020, from 10 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home, with Pastor Cam Bucklew Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
