Carolyn Sue McGill

March 26, 1949 - June 4, 2021

Carolyn Sue (Wycoff) McGill, of Fairmont, formerly of Mobley, West Virginia, passed away on Friday, June 4, 2021 after a nearly 20 year battle with leukemia. Carolyn was the daughter of W.A. (Abby) and Junetta Grace Stull Wycoff. She was preceded in death by her parents W.A. (Abby) and Junetta Wycoff, Fiancé Sgt. Robert A. Clark who died in 1968 in Vietnam, a sister and brother-in-law Mary Catherine and Dudley Parks, brother-in-law Robert D. Henderson, and a niece, Larlie Aberegg. Carolyn graduated from Valley High School in Pine Grove in the class of 1967. She worked at the Drapey Factor in Mannington, Water Plant for the town of Littleton, and was a custodian for over 20 years for the Wetzel County Board of Education, mostly at Valley High School. Carolyn was raised in the Allen Chapel Church of Christ in Mobley and later became a member of The First Church of the Nazarene in Fairmont. She is survived by a son, Joshua McGill and his wife Amanda of Ukiah, CA, and a daughter, Amanda Nagley and her husband David of Edmond, OK, four granddaughters, Teagan and Rowah McGill, and Emma Lee and Ellie Mae Negley. She is also survived by her three sisters, Joyce Silver of Fairmont with whom she made her home with, Ruth Plum and her husband Bob of Fairmont, Alice Kendall of Vienna, and a brother, John Wycoff and his wife Marie, also of Fairmont, three nieces Annette Plum of Fairmont, Tammy Steele, Mistie Youmans of Vienna, two nephews, David Plum of Fairmont, and John Parks of Coburn, WV. The family would like to thank Dr. Craig and his staff at the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center, WV Caring Hospice, Pastor Jeff Haught and Elton Slusser for their many visits and calls and to Debbie Short for all the cards and emails. Family and friends are welcome to call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont, WV 26554, on Monday, June 7, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Haught officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
